Botswana
Botswana is Africa’s shinning light, a true democracy, peaceful people, a positive GDP growth and money in the bank are part of the reason why Botswana is a successful nation. With an area of 581 730 square kilometers, Botswana is virtually the same size as France or Texas. With three quarters of the country technically a desert the Okavango Delta is a Jewel in the Kalahari Desert. Attracting huge herds of game and Africa’s largest elephant population while the Kalahari Desert offers fewer species of game that have adapted to this dry climate.
The country’s leaders took the view that high quality/low volume tourism was the best way to create a sustainable industry that would employ a large percentage of its people, while still preserving the environment. Much of the country’s wildlife lies outside of the National Parks and Game Reserves.
